BONFIRE LAKE -  

Bonfire Lake was created in 1995/96 by way of back flooding a large valley and as a result the environment remains totally natural being surrounded on the one side by woodland and on the other side by open pasture land.  Bonfire is an impressive lake of some 5 acres having varying depths from 3' down to around 15'.  Following construction, the lake was stocked with a large number of carp, a high proportion of which were particularly nicely patterned Mirrors with large plate scales together with some excellent fully scaled Mirrors, around 40 Ghost Carp plus well over 150 Common Carp.  The size of the Carp now range from about 2lbs on the low side up to approaching 20lbs and we now have an excellent stock of fish in the 5lbs to 10lbs range which continue to improve in size.  In addition to the Carp, Bonfire Lake also supports some good Tench and some quite outstanding Perch, the latter of which have now been caught to over 4lbs!

WILLOW TREE LAKE -

A most attractive lake of around 2.5 acres with an island and varying depths from 16' down to 3'.  Willow Tree Lake is our specimen lake and now contains around 50 outstanding Carp, the majority of which are fine Mirrors (some being fully scaled) together with a number of superb Ghost Carp.  A good proportion of these fish are now around or into their twenties and some are approaching the 30lb mark.  Our longer term strategy for Willow Tree is to stock it with additional, high quality fish as and when they become available, and to feed the current stock to enable them to further increase growth rates.

GROUP FISHING FOR 2010 

BONFIRE LAKE contains a large number of Rudd to over 2lbs as well as the Carp.  There are also some good Tench and some excellent Perch in this lake.  Groups of 10 anglers or more can easily be accommodated on Bonfire Lake and up to 10 on Willow Tree Lake.

We will be delighted to discuss group bookings from bona fide Fishing Clubs for single day fishing parties for the season commencing May 2010, the cost of which will be £100 per day, subject to a maximum of 15 anglers.

MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION -   

It is the Owners' intention that the Lakes should be reserved strictly for the discerning angler within the framework of an exclusive fishing syndicate known as the Carp Improvement Society or C.I.S.  The Lakes are situated adjacent to and alongside open pasture land and are approached through delightful woodland, all of which is owned by us.  There is the benefit of easy parking within the woodland immediately adjacent to Willow Tree Lake and Bonfire Lake is easily accessed on foot within around 200 yards distance.

Prospective new Members wishing to join the Carp Improvement Society are invited to meet initially with our Fishery Manager who will then give a guided tour of the Lakes by appointment, following which a ONE-OFF JOINING FEE OF £100.00 will then become payable for those wishing to join the Syndicate.  Guests of existing Members who express an interest in joining the C.I.S. will also be given the opportunity to fish Bonfire Lake for a full day, free of charge.

Members are now able to fish on the basis of a Day Ticket which will involve booking in by telephone with our Fishery Manager IN ADVANCE OF FISHING.  Failure to pre-book for fishing will result in immediate disqualification from the Syndicate.

 

The Day Ticket Prices for Members are listed below:

Day Ticket (dawn until dusk) - Bonfire Lake only - £7.50 for Members and £10 for Guests accompanied by a Member.  

Day Ticket (dawn until dusk) - Willow Tree Lake (and to include fishing on Bonfire Lake during the same day if desired) - £10 for Members and £15 for Guests accompanied by a Member and who MUST BE EXPERIENCED ANGLERS.

Night Fishing will selectively be permitted for MEMBERS ONLY (although the Syndicate does not encourage this facility) at a cost of £15 for Bonfire Lake and £20 for Willow Tree Lake per night ticket.

PRE-BOOKING OF ALL FISHING WILL BE ESSENTIAL.
